Money Follows the Person

Money Follows the Person (MFP) is a new category code associated with four Medicaid Waivers.  The program is designed to assist eligible individuals transition from nursing facilities and intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded to community settings.

The waivers that have MFP funding are:

•  AD (Aged and Disabled)
•  CDD (Children's Developmental  Disabilities)
•  DDAC (Developmental Disabilities Adult Comp)
•  TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)

When a client is approved for MFP they are eligible for enhanced funding.  Only designated personnel in the Central Office have the security to change the category code to MFP.
