Make a SVES Request
The system automatically initiates a SVES Request when a Case Person is registered in N-FOCUS. The automatic request is re-initiated if personal demographic information for an individual is changed, such as SSN, Name or Birth Date.
A worker may initiate a SVES Request at any time by selecting the SVES SSN Request button on the Interfaces Menu, or by entering the person's SSA Claim Number and selecting the SVES Claim Request button.
The request provides verification, after a 48 hour period, of the Case Person's Social Security Number as well as applicable information about SSA, Medicare, and SSI.
- The verified status of the Social Security Number will appear on the Person Detail Window, by selecting the "Person Verification" button.
- If the SSN entered in N-FOCUS does not match the record received from SVES, the worker will receive an Alert.
- If the Social Security Administration determines the Social Security Number entered into N-FOCUS is a transposed number, the Interface will return the correct number.
- If the SSN returned by SVES already exists on the system, alerts will be sent to the worker(s) to resolve the problem. The worker will need to remove the SSN for the unverified person, and update the SSN of the person SVES has verified.
- Information received regarding SSA, Medicare, and SSI will display in either the BDE or SDX Interface windows.
